Wireframes are an important tool for visualising the user interface and user experience of my app. By sketching wireframes, I was able to get a sense of how the different pages and content of the app will be organised and presented to users. This helped me to identify any issues with the layout or navigation of the app, and make any necessary adjustments. My wireframes were typically quick and easy to create, which makes them great for exploring different design options and quickly identifying the best approach. By testing them with users, I could identify any usability issues or areas for improvement in the app.
I wanted to get a quick and rough idea of what each section would look like and how it would link up. whilst wireframing I spent my time exploring different variations of the same feature to see which one suited and looked best on screen. It was a rather quick and effortless method of feature designing and I feel it helped me physically visualise how my app would take form.
I was also able to eliminate certain features and information that didn’t work well with other content immediately, saving me time and effort in the future when I go on to lo-fi prototype my designs.
I understand that sketching wireframes is an important part of the app development process because it helps to visualise and prototype the UI and UX of an app, and to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement. It can facilitate communication and collaboration, allow for rapid prototyping and iteration, and help to identify usability issues.
The next step now is to blow these designs up into digital mocks. This way I will be able to see a clearer picture of my design and identify any issues that arise. By transferring these designs into digital form, I will also be able to link the screens together and create a lo-fi prototype. With this, I can share my design with other people and get more in-depth feedback on the functionality of the app and any possible content that is missing.
